It is now time to think about this summer's NJCL Convention in Emory. If you have never been, or
haven’t been in a while, this should be your year! I am excited about
this Convention and the itinerary we have planned. Please take a moment to
read the outline below. This is the nearest Convention to us in years, so I'd like to see at least 150 or more FJCLers in our delegation at Emory!
Convention runs from 1pm on July 28th until the morning of August 2nd. If
delegates wish to get there on July 27th to setttle in, they will need to register for
pre-convention housing. Convention registration this year is $485. We are planning an official
FJCL excursion, although delegates are welcome to travel to Convention independently (at the direction of and with permission of parents).
The FJCL excursion will leave from various cities on the morning of
July 26th and head to Atlanta. There we will visit Zoo Atlanta, eat dinner, and stay in a hotel that night. After breakfast on the 27th, we will spend the day at Six Flags Over Georgia. After Six Flags, we will head to Emory University to check in for Convention.
***N.B. The FJCL excursion requires all delegates to opt
for pre-convention housing. The all-inclusive price for this excursion
in $250. This will include the bus, hotel, and entrances to Zoo Atlanta and Six Flags, and your spirit fee. Travel arrangements and pricing will be much nicer this year compared to Vegas last year!
Shortly after State Forum, I will need estimates from teachers as to how many are likely to attend the excursion from each school. This is critical for me to figure out bus and hotel logistics, so please be prompt.
I hope to have a great trip and to see many of you there!
