FJCL Scholarships
The following scholarships are awarded annually by the Florida Junior Classical League and Classical Association of Florida. Applications are available below and may be submitted between January 1st and the State Latin Forum registration deadline.
Marie Girardeau Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded in honor of beloved Duval County Latin teacher Marie Girardeau, affectionately known as "Mama G" by many FJCLers. Marie embodied the JCL spirit in and out of the classroom for 23 years. Sadly she lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 2011. Her love for the NJCL Convention was legendary, thus we honor her by awarding a Convention packet to a deserving FJCLer annually. |
FJCL Senior Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is given to an outstanding FJCL senior who will study Latin, Greek, or classic civilization at a Florida university. In addition to the application, applicants take a translation exam which is administered at their schools.
The Classical Association of Florida and Florida Junior Classical League would like to thank the following donors for their generous donations to the Marie Girardeau Memorial Scholarship Fund:
